THE ROLE

The Data Center GPU organization at AMD is transforming the industry with AI-based Graphics Processors. We aim to design products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, supporting enterprise Data Centers, AI, HPC, and Embedded systems. Key Responsibilities

  1. Set up hardware to enable remote/local testing and user-defined workloads in the validation lab.
  2. Perform initial troubleshooting and debugging of system, firmware, or software issues while maintaining system integrity.
  3. Reproduce issues and validate fixes with platform leads and engineers.
  4. Provide logs and data to assist in debugging.
  5. Integrate automated testing within CI/CD environments (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).
  6. Manage tickets and communicate clearly on activities.

Required Experience

  1. Hands-on experience with Data Center hardware and server debugging in Linux, Windows, or other OS environments.
  2. Experience with rack/stack/deployment of servers in Data Centers.
  3. Experience with test bench setup and embedded systems.
  4. Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  5. Programming and scripting skills (Python, bash, C/C++) in Windows/Linux.
  6. Hardware/software setup and administration in PC/server environments.
  7. Basic networking skills.
  8. Experience with hardware and software fault detection and power management.
  9. Knowledge of power electronics, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and protocol analyzers.
  10. Structured documentation of experimental results.
  11. Understanding of computer hardware and software architecture.
  12. Hardware setup and system building skills.
  13. Decision-making based on triage/debugging.
  14. Test automation with Perl/Tcl/Python/LabView.
  15. Bonus: Familiarity with industry protocols like I2C, Redfish, IPMI, PCIe Gen 5.

Academic Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
