Position: Systems Administrator

Job Overview:

This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting all Server & Storage Infrastructure technology and cloud technologies at Longo’s. It includes performing needs assessments, analysis, recommendations, documenting process improvements, and implementing preventive and detective controls. The role involves interaction with cross-functional teams, including internal resources and external partners and suppliers. Responsibilities include system monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, fine-tuning, enhancements, and documentation, as well as new system installs, configurations, and upgrades.

Accountabilities:

Infrastructure Design and Security:

• Ensure all server hardware and software are operational and take corrective action when necessary.
• Perform system administration tasks such as performance tuning, system optimization, disk space planning, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Monitor, identify, and resolve capacity, contention, and resource issues.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support for all IT systems.
• Document and improve current IT infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
• Manage Active Directory, including GPO creation, maintenance, and configuration.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot virtualization environments (VMware, Nutanix) and manage VMs lifecycle.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot storage solutions (DAS, NAS, SAN) such as HPE 3PAR and DELL EMC/Nutanix.
• Manage IT security, including patch management and access controls.
• Assess organizational needs for equipment, platforms, and software.
• Research and evaluate new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate system maintenance to minimize impact on users.
• Participate in IT planning and budgeting.
• Manage system alerts and provide after-hours support when needed.
• Support other IT team members as backup.

Process Improvement & Internal Control:

• Maintain documentation of infrastructure and processes.
• Review and improve current practices based on industry best practices.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and report progress.

Qualifications:

• University/College Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of experience in a multi-location organization.
• Knowledge of server & storage operating systems (VMware, Linux, Microsoft).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, O365, Azure.
• Knowledge of vulnerability and patch management platforms like Qualys.
• Experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk.
• Experience provisioning and managing Azure VMs, storage, and networking.
• Knowledge of MS Azure Cloud technologies and Marketplace.
• Knowledge of backup technologies (Veeam, VMware SRM, Azure Migration).
• Knowledge of database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle Clusters).
• Certifications in VMware/Nutanix and Azure are assets.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, PowerCLI.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Working Conditions:

• Periodic work outside regular hours may be required.
