The Role

The Diagnostic Engineering team develops function, system, and stress validation tools for next-generation AMD CPU, APU, and GPU products. The System Level Diagnostic Development Engineer collaborates with diagnostic architects and technical leads to implement test scenarios based on key product features and validation strategies.

The Person

We seek a self-motivated engineer with solid software development knowledge and understanding of SoC architecture to design and develop software verifying AMD's industry-leading products. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with strong communication skills, proactive in improving development processes and driving innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop diagnostic suites in C++ for verifying multi-IP/system-level features, including bring-up and verification in pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
• Collaborate with diagnostic IP developers to leverage diagnostic content for efficient cross-IP coverage.
• Identify and resolve IP, SoC, board, and firmware issues as needed.
• Support external customers and internal teams with system-level diagnostics for chip screening, validation, and profiling.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of CPU and GPU architecture.
• Experience with driver, validation tools, or embedded software development, with close interaction with hardware and firmware teams.
• Strong software development skills and hardware understanding.
• Hands-on experience with SoC bring-up.
• Proficiency in C and Modern C++ programming.
• Experience developing software for Linux environments.
• Familiarity with source control systems like Git.
• Strong debugging and testing skills.

Academic Credentials

• Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
