System Integration & Verification Engineer — Test & Automation

Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada is seeking a System Integration & Verification Engineer to join the Bowman product development team in Calgary. You will support integration and test activities across firmware, software, radio and network systems in a modular, secure tactical environment.

You will plan, execute and automate tests, analyze results, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design readiness. Travel may be required to support customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in defining, developing and executing integration or qualification tests, and understanding the interdependencies and interactions between subsystems.
• Experience in the investigation, recommendations, and resolution of defects.
• Experience with test engineering processes and tools.
• Knowledge and use of requirements tools, an asset.
• Experience in development of test automation scripts to improve efficiency of integration testing, an asset.
• Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred
• Familiarity with radios, voice/data networks and Internet Protocols (IP), an asset.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and perform firmware and software integration test activities for firmware and software builds.
• Review and analyze subsystem and product requirements specifications, interface control documents, design documents and use cases to assess testability, completeness and technical alignment.
• Develop, maintain and execute product integration and verification test procedures of varying scope and complexity based on product-level designs and requirements.
• Analyze and interpret test results, assess system performance and prepare clear product integration and verification test reports with findings and recommendations.
• Identify, investigate and document defects; perform root-cause analysis in collaboration with development teams; and verify implemented solutions.
• Develop, maintain and enhance lab scripts and test automation to improve test coverage, repeatability and execution efficiency.
• Provide technical support for customer installation, integration and test activities, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Estimate assigned work, provide input to schedule development, track progress, and proactively communicate technical risks, dependencies and mitigation actions.
• Collaborate closely with systems, software, firmware and hardware engineering functions throughout the development cycle to support design capture, technical analysis and integration readiness.
• Travel as required to provide technical support to internal and external customers.
