Job summary

Air Canada is seeking a System Configuration Supervisor to ensure proper configuration of the airline's maintenance management systems (TRAX, Itims, Toolbox) for Engineering Controls, Task Cards and Part Number Configuration.

You will lead a team of Technical Writers and Data Controllers, set workload priorities, and maintain data integrity while aligning with maintenance program requirements.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software.
  • Knowledge of TRAX, Itims and Toolbox systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of airline maintenance standards (CARs) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish workload priorities for Technical Writers and Data Controllers.
  • Provide guidance to team members and foster professional growth.
  • Plan major projects or urgent requests including Maintenance program revisions.
  • Ensure and monitor data integrity in TRAX, Itims, and Toolbox.
  • Review workflows to meet timelines and improve efficiency.
  • Provide expertise to leverage TRAX technology across teams.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and reporting.
  • Document and maintain BUPM processes and standards.

The position of System Configuration Supervisor is responsible for ensuring proper and timely configuration of the airline’s maintenance management and planning system (TRAX) and Maintenance Manuals (Toolbox/Itims) for Engineering Controls, Task Cards and Part Number Configuration.

Responsibilities
  • Establish workload priorities and assignments for the Technical Writers and/or Technical Data Controllers, that may include creation/editing of task cards, maintenance manuals, creating/editing Engineering Controls for Maintenance program tasks and one time modifications, setting up/editing Part number configuration.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to team members, fostering an environment for professional development and growth.
  • Plan special requirements such as major projects or urgent requests, this may include Maintenance program revisions, cabin reconfigurations, check escalations, etc.
  • Ensure and monitor the data integrity in TRAX, Itims, and Toolbox
  • Review and maintain efficient workflows to measure required timelines.
  • Provide expertise allowing ACM to leverage TRAX technology.
  • Conduct regular team meetings
  • Document and maintain BUPM process and standards to align with current practices
Qualifications
  • Demonstrates skills in people, and project management.
  • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent an asset.
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and with changing priorities.
  • Proficiency with MS office software
  • Good working knowledge of applicable airline standards and other regulations (e.g. CARs)
  • Strong knowledge of the airline maintenance industry
  • Minimum of two-years experience within AC Maintenance or demonstrated equivalency
  • Knowledge of TRAX technical records, and maintenance planning for an airline are considered assets
  • Knowledge of the IAMAW collective agreement is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of SGML, XML and technical markup language an asset
