Job summary

VTRAC Consulting Corporation (WBE) is seeking an Enterprise Systems Architect to design and guide the evolution of enterprise technology platforms. You will define scalable architecture across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and data while driving modern engineering practices and AI-enabled platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of systems/enterprise architecture experience.
• Experience designing on Microsoft Azure with cloud governance.
• Exposure to AI/ML, MLOps or intelligent application architecture is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and continuous improvement of enterprise architecture across cloud, infrastructure, apps, data and integrations.
• Develop architecture standards, roadmaps, and governance for security, scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
• Design modern cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure with containerized workloads, Kubernetes, and automation.
• Establish patterns for APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems for future scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, data, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to provide technical leadership.
• Evaluate emerging technologies including AI-enabled platforms and cloud services for business value.
• Provide architectural oversight, mentorship, and reviews ensuring high availability and DR.

Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking Systems Architect to design and guide the evolution of enterprise technology platforms that support business growth, innovation, and operational excellence. In this role, you will define scalable architecture across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and data while driving the adoption of modern engineering practices and emerging technologies. Working closely with engineering, DevOps, security, and business leaders, you will establish architectural direction, evaluate new technologies, and ensure enterprise solutions are resilient, secure, and aligned with strategic objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with the ability to influence stakeholders, mentor technical teams, and translate business requirements into practical technology solutions across cloud and hybrid environments. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and continuous improvement of enterprise architecture spanning cloud platforms, infrastructure, applications, data, and integration services.
• Develop architecture standards, technical roadmaps, and governance practices that promote security, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Design modern cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure while supporting containerized workloads, Kubernetes platforms, and infrastructure automation initiatives.
• Establish architecture patterns for APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and enterprise integrations that improve interoperability and future scalability.
• Partner with engineering, DevOps, data, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to provide technical leadership throughout project planning and solution delivery.
• Evaluate emerging technologies—including AI-enabled platforms, automation capabilities, and cloud services—and recommend adoption based on business value and technical feasibility.
• Provide architectural oversight, technical mentorship, and solution reviews while ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, performance optimization, and compliance with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in systems architecture, enterprise architecture, or solution design.
• Extensive experience designing enterprise solutions using Microsoft Azure and cloud governance services.
• Proven expertise with distributed architectures, microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven design, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to AI/ML, MLOps, or intelligent application architecture is considered a strong asset.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Linux-based environments, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience working with modern development technologies and data platforms (Python, NoSQL, messaging tools).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional certifications such as TOGAF and Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect are considered an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
