Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence.
• Must possess a clean driving record.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility with work schedule; overtime, holidays and weekends may be required.
• Effective written and verbal communication is mandatory.
• Excellent attendance and performance record.
• Must be able to stand long and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate Front-End, Roll-Off, Boom, Cube Van, Rear Loader, and Top Loader trucks.
• Adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and OH&S Act.
• Be familiar with roads in Halifax, Dartmouth and surrounding areas.
• Ensure customers are serviced per contractual requirements and schedules.
• Push/pull containers safely and unlock/lock containers/enclosures.
• Collect cardboard in the core of Halifax.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Meet or exceed performance and productivity targets.
• Occasionally drive for residential collections.
