Qualifications

  • Physical capability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

Your Role as Barn Manager : As the Barn Manager , you’ll be responsible for :

  • Supervising and scheduling a team to meet production targets.
  • Managing livestock health and welfare, ensuring biosecurity standards.
  • Overseeing breeding, birthing, nursing, and all other swine production activities.
  • Recruiting, training, and leading a team of farm staff.
  • Maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring the barn operates smoothly.
  • Managing budgets, reporting, and collaborating with senior management.
  • Promoting environmental sustainability and workplace safety.

What We’re Looking For :

  • Education : Post-secondary degree or diploma in agriculture, animal science, or a related field.
  • Experience : At least 3 years of swine barn management and supervisory experience.
  • Skills : Leadership, problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, and proficiency in tools like Google Workspace.
  • Licenses : Valid PEI driver’s license, Class 3 license (Class 1 preferred).
  • Physical Capability : Ability to perform manuallabourand work in various weather conditions.
