YOUR IMPACT


OpenText (NASDAQ/TSX: OTEX), a Canadian based global software leader in Content, Cloud and Enterprise Information Management, is seeking a highly strategic and analytically driven Senior Vice President (SVP), Global Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This newly designed critical executive leadership position will be accountable for shaping and delivering the company’s enterprise-wide financial plan, modelling for all business units, performance management reporting and bringing thought leadership and recommended actions to business leaders. As a partner to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), this leader will work with their team of business unit financial leaders to shape financial priorities for internal planning and external shareholder guidance, methods of reporting, and continuous improvement in financial insight, process and related systems for the best possible data driven decision making. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Global Head will leverage their deep experience in FP&A, potentially across industries to work with our leadership team and act as a catalyst for continuous improvement in financial insight, performance and operational effectiveness.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Single leader for FP&A Function Globally:
    Oversee all financial planning and analysis activities, including annual planning and long-range planning, world class thought leadership and strategic financial modeling.
  • Enterprise Performance Management:
    Partner with the CFO and ELT to translate strategy into actionable financial plans, KPIs, and dashboards that drive alignment, transparency, and accountability across business units.
  • Executive Decision Support:
    Deliver insightful financial analysis and scenario planning to support capital allocation, investments, and strategic initiatives. Bring clarity to complex business issues through data.
  • Drive Accuracy, Scenarios and Planning Discipline:
    Implement best-in-class planning tools, cadence, and governance processes to ensure reliability, speed, and business unit accountability.
  • Lead and Scale a High-Performing FP&A Team:
    Attract, develop, and retain top finance talent. Build a culture of performance, curiosity, and continuous learning within the FP&A team.
  • Enable Financial Transformation:
    Drive automation, system upgrades, and the modernization of planning tools to support real-time analytics and scalable processes.
  • Business Partnership:
    Constantly bringing in fresh outside-in perspective, serve as a strategic advisor to senior business leaders, providing financial insight to help shape go-to-market strategies, product investments, and operational plans.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Data-Driven Storytelling:
    Ability to distill complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives that guide executive decision-making.

    Operates as a trusted advisor with the ability to influence at all levels and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.

    Comfortable navigating change and complexity, with a strong bias for action and adaptability.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Focused on building robust, scalable processes and driving continuous improvement across planning cycles and systems.

Qualifications

  • MBA, CFA or CPA strongly preferred.
  • 20+ years of progressive finance experience, with a strong background in FP&A leadership within global, matrixed organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of financial planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Oracle, SAP BPC) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a track record of building trusted relationships across executive teams.Experience in technology, SaaS, or software industries is a strong plus.
