Job summary

IWK Health in Halifax is seeking a Sustainability Quality Improvement Consultant to lead unit-specific and organization-wide initiatives. You will advance environmental sustainability and clinical quality by applying evidence-based methods with clinical and operational teams.

You will drive change-management, educate staff, and monitor outcomes to embed sustainable care practices across programs and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Service Administration, Health Information Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or Environmental Studies
• Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of related experience
• PMP preferred
• CAPM preferred
• Direct experience managing environmental sustainability projects preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently and with an interdisciplinary team
• Critical thinking for innovative solutions
• Adapt information for different audiences
• Language skills are an asset

Responsibilities

• Lead sustainability-focused quality improvement projects translating priorities into measurable improvements
• Analyze workflows, identify waste, lead cross-program redesigns for safer, more sustainable care
• Provide guidance to embed sustainability into policies and pathways
• Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities and implement solutions
• Apply change-management strategies to sustain improvements
• Develop education, tools, and coaching for staff and physicians
• Lead data collection and reporting on environmental and clinical outcomes
• Translate complex information into clear recommendations and presentations
• Monitor outcomes and refine interventions for continuous improvement
