Job summary

MTE Consultants Inc. is seeking a Surveyor to join the Survey Division in our Kitchener office. You will assist with topographic surveys, construction layouts, and boundary surveys, while performing CAD drafting and survey calculations.

The role requires a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent, 1–3 years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Valid driver’s license and flexible hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role (including co-op).
• Experienced with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with laser/optical levels, total stations, and GPS survey equipment.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and safe work practices around heavy equipment.
• First Aid & CPR training considered an asset.
• Must possess a valid class G driver’s license and be able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the completion of topographic surveys, construction layouts, and boundary surveys.

• Prepare survey notes, grade sheets, and perform various calculations.
• Communicate with other surveyors and contractors to complete survey tasks.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.
• Download field survey data and prepare records for processing and documentation.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and safe work practices when working around heavy equipment and/or construction sites
• Standard First Aid & CPR training considered an asset and
• The successful candidate must possess a valid class G driver’s license and must be able to work flexible hours to meet contractor hours and project deadlines

Salary Range

$23.79 - $30.00 per hour, plus benefits

Hourly Wage will be based on individual education, qualifications, and relevant work experience.
