Job summary

MTE Consultants Inc. is seeking an Ontario Land Surveyor to join our Burlington Survey Division. You will work with a team on land survey and engineering projects, including Reference Plans, Subdivision Plans, Plans of Condominium, and more.

The ideal candidate is a Licensed Ontario Land Surveyor with at least 3 years of experience, strong surveying/engineering knowledge, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Travel across southwestern Ontario is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Ontario Land Surveyor in good standing with the AOLS, preferably 3+ years.
• Strong knowledge of surveying and engineering principles and design standards.
• Familiar with a broad field of engineering and surveying and reciprocal effects.
• Technical report writing skills and strong written/verbal communication.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and drafting software.
• Access to a vehicle for work travel across southwestern Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and technologists on survey/engineering projects.
• Research background information, land registry/title searches, and appropriate reviewers.
• Oversee, prepare, and review a variety of survey documents.
• Participate in proposal preparation.
• Report to Manager of Legal Surveys.
• Perform other duties as assigned to an OLS.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a team of surveyors, engineers and technologists to deliver land survey and engineering projects including Reference Plans, Subdivision Plans, Plans of Condominium, Surveyor’s Real Property Reports, Topographic and other Plans of Survey
• Research project-related background information, Land Registry Office Title searching and contact appropriate reviewing agencies where required
• Oversee, prepare and review a variety of survey documents
• Participate in the preparation of proposals
• Report directly to our Manager of Legal Surveys
• Other related duties as assumed by an OLS, as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed Ontario Land Surveyor in good standing with the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors with preferably 3+ years of experience
• Strong knowledge of surveying and engineering principles and design standards;
• General familiarity with a broad field of engineering and surveying, and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields
• Technical report writing skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills;
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D software, or other drafting/graphic software, as specified by the Division
• Access to a vehicle for work related travel is required as our clients take us across southwestern Ontario

Salary Range

$120,000 – $135,000 per year base salary, plus benefits

Annual Salary will be based on individual education, qualifications, and relevant work experience.
