Inline Group Inc. is seeking a Survey Party Chief based in Calgary, Alberta.

This role involves a fly-in, fly-out rotation (3 weeks on, 3 weeks off) in Canada’s North, offering a hands-on opportunity to lead survey activities and ensure accurate data collection with advanced equipment. The ideal candidate has a Geomatics diploma and prior survey experience, enjoys fieldwork in remote settings, and holds a valid Class 5 driver's license.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Geomatics or related discipline with prior surveying experience
• Willingness to travel and work on projects across northern Canada
• Comfortable working outdoors in remote environments
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Experience in energy, construction, or mining is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead safety meetings and promote safe work practices on site
• Operate_total stations, GPS, and laser scanners to collect precise field data
• Perform layout, construction, and as-built surveys and support excavation and utilities placement
• Prepare detailed survey reports and field notes using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software

Join Our Team as a Survey Party Chief!

Are you a hardworking, adaptable surveyor ready to jump into a fast-paced, growing company? Inline Group is looking for a Survey Party Chief to join our team based in the This role offers a fly-in, fly-out rotation (3 weeks on, and 3 weeks off), giving you the opportunity to build your career while experiencing the adventure of Canada’s North.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Safety first, always – Take an active role in site safety meetings, strictly follow all site-specific requirements, and lead by example to promote safe work practices. Encourage safety interventions and help maintain a culture where safety and quality come first.
• High-tech fieldwork – Operate advanced survey equipment like total stations, GPS, and laser scanners to gather highly accurate field data. Ensure calibration and use of the right tools for each phase of the project to deliver precision surveying.
• Hands-on surveying –Perform layout, construction, and as-built surveys. Assist with excavation, backfill, and the placement of underground utilities, foundations, roads, and subgrade materials. Provide precise layouts for anchor bolts, structural foundations, piping, equipment placement, steel structures, and other critical installations.
• Technical Reporting – Prepare detailed survey reports, sketches, and comprehensive field notes. Support and manage data deliverables using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant software. Maintain accurate records of field data, calculations, and site conditions to support project transparency and accuracy.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education & Experience – Diploma in Geomatics or a related discipline along with previous survey experience.
• Field Flexibility – Willingness to travel and work on projects throughout northern Canada.
• Outdoor Capability – Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions in remote environments and navigating wilderness terrain.
• Licensed & Reliable – Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Industry Experience – Experience in the energy, construction, or mining sectors is considered an asset.
