Job summary

Inline Group Inc. is hiring a Junior Surveyor to support field surveying on civil and industrial projects in Edmonton. You will contribute to precise layout, data collection and daily field notes while working with an experienced team.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years in surveying, basic survey principles knowledge, and a willingness to travel for local or FIFO assignments across Canada. The role includes growth and training opportunities with competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years in civil/industrial surveying.
  • Completion of Civil Eng Tech or Geomatics is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of survey principles and data collection.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Field surveying and precise layout on industrial and civil projects.
  • Quality assurance and maintenance of field notes and data logs.
  • Support safety programs and promote safe work practices.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain survey equipment and vehicles.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and drafting teams.
  • Refer to drawings and specs; report non-conformances.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and workflows.

Inline Group Inc. has exciting opportunities for Junior Surveyors to join our growing team! Whether you're looking for local Edmonton work or Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) opportunities across Canada, we have a role for you. You'll support field surveying on a variety of industrial and civil projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience alongside an experienced team. What You’ll Be Doing
  • Field Surveying – Support surveyors with precision layout and data collection on industrial and civil projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all field activities.
  • Quality Assurance – Participate in field quality control and verification, recording and maintaining accurate daily field notes and data logs.
  • Safety Leadership – Actively engage in Inline’s corporate and client HSE programs, promoting safe work practices and contributing to a culture of safety excellence.
  • Technical Support – Troubleshoot and maintain survey equipment and vehicles, ensuring readiness for field operations.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and drafting teams to support project execution and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Refer to construction drawings and specifications, and report non-conformance issues to management as required.
  • Continuous Learning – Take initiative to learn new technologies, methods, and workflows that enhance your professional development in the surveying field.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience – You have 1-3+ years of experience in civil/industrial surveying, and you're looking to bring that energy and expertise to a company that values growth and career development. Completed Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics program is considered an asset.
  • Technical Skills – Basic understanding of survey principles, equipment use, and field data collection
  • Communication & Teamwork – Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take instruction and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to Detail – Organized, precise, and able to complete tasks accurately under tight timelines.
  • Physical Readiness – Able to lift up to 50 lbs and enjoy working outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Driver’s License – Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Willingness to Travel – Availability to travel to project sites across Canada for either local or FIFO assignments.
