Projects You Could Contribute To

Our Edmonton team supports projects across transportation, construction, energy and land development. Depending on project assignments, you may contribute to:

  • Transportation and Infrastructure: Field surveying supporting roadways, highway improvements and infrastructure construction.

  • Construction and Land Development: Construction layout, grade staking, site measurements and survey control.

  • Advanced Surveying and Mapping: Opportunities to gain exposure to scanning, RPAS/drone operations, bathymetry, LiDAR, remote sensing, line locating and GIS.

Working alongside experienced survey professionals, you'll learn how accurate field data supports projects from planning and design through construction.

What You’ll Do

Working under the direction of a Field Supervisor or Party Chief, you’ll support field surveying activities and develop the practical skills needed to grow in the profession.

  • Assist with setting up and operating a range of survey equipment.

  • Support field surveys for construction, transportation, energy, land development and other projects.

  • Help establish stakes, markers, survey control points and other reference points used to guide construction and identify site features.

  • Learning correct surveying methods and completing some tasks independently under the direction of the party chief or supervisors.

  • Follow company and client safety procedures, participate in safety meetings and contribute to a safe work environment.

  • Ask questions and get involved in the daily safety and learn about the survey procedures and how we provide value to our clients.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in learning.

  • High school diploma, technical school education and an understanding of basic surveying is an asset but skills and experience from trades or construction are also relevant.

  • The physical ability to carry and set up survey equipment and perform field duties safely. Willing to work in varied environmental conditions, able to work in wildlife populated areas, and willing to work in remote areas for extended periods and varied hours.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent).
