Job summary

McElhanney Ltd. in Calgary is seeking a Junior Survey Assistant to join our field team. No surveying experience is required; we provide training and support to help you succeed on our projects, including municipal infrastructure and legal surveys.

Work is outdoors and involves long hours with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and learning from experienced professionals within a supportive, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather.
• Physically able to perform demanding work and lift equipment.
• Willingness to work 10–12 hours a day for extended periods.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Use tools and equipment to place stakes, marks, control points or to identify utilities or survey monuments.
• Set up and operate a range of survey equipment.
• Follow directions from the Survey Party Chief or Field Supervisor to support field crews.
• Follow and participate in safety processes and procedures.

McElhanney is hiring a Junior Survey Assistant to join our Calgary team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being outdoors, and enjoys hands‑on work. No surveying experience is required - we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

As part of our team, you'll work on exciting projects in Calgary , includingmunicipal infrastructure, construction,and legal surveys. Every day is different, and you'll gain valuable skills while working alongside experienced professionals.

Please note: Pre- employment drug and alcohol testing is required , along with client-specific site access testing. Applicants must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent) and meet our insurer requirements, including a minimum of three years of driving experience. You will also need your own vehicleto get to site or meet up with you r co-worker

What Can We Off er Y ou?

The wage range for this position is $ 19 - $2 2 per hour . McElhanney offers fair compensation that is c ommensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary /wage offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate
