What You Will Do:

  • Capture high‑quality video and photographic evidence and gather information legally, ethically, and confidentially.
  • Prepare accurate, detailed investigative notes and reports in accordance with Xpera’s standards and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and federal legislation, company policies, and investigative best practices.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and support investigators through training, performance monitoring, and constructive feedback.
  • Schedule and assign surveillance files based on operational needs, investigator suitability, and workload.
  • Monitor investigative progress and timelines, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve optimal results within budget.
  • Communicate with clients regarding assignment progress, investigative findings, and recommended next steps.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in good working conditions and attend required meetings, training, and court proceedings.
  • Respond to evolving operational needs with flexibility and sound judgment and perform other duties as required.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum two (2) years of field surveillance investigation experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a client‑focused environment, with a strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, training, coaching, or mentorship.
  • A valid Private Investigator Licence in the applicable province of employment.
  • Reliable, commercially insured vehicle and a clean driving record.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with advanced report‑writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, and meet demanding deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Relevant post‑secondary education, law enforcement experience, and knowledge of Canadian courts, criminal and civil law, insurance law, and privacy legislation are considered assets.
