St. Joseph’s Health System (SJHS) in Hamilton is seeking an experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide nursing care for surgical patients, promote health, assess needs, and support treatment through preventive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitation means, aligned with SJHS standards.

The RPN collaborates with RNs to ensure safe, effective care for less complex cases, recognizes acuity changes, and participates in ongoing learning.

Formación

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
• Education options include a Practical Nursing Diploma with IV medication administration, with or without an IV certificate.
• BCLS/HCP certification is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of care for seniors and families.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and health-care team.
• Ability to set priorities and organize work according to patient needs.
• Knowledge of transfers and lifts.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and quality improvement.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, internet, data entry, patient information systems).
