Job summary

Aon is seeking a Surety Broker within our Construction & Infrastructure group in Edmonton. You will manage surety accounts, review bids, prepare sunshine letters and bonds, and deliver trusted advice that helps construction clients succeed.

The role starts in-office for onboarding, then moves to a hybrid model requiring three days on-site weekly. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada, with sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of surety and construction industry practices is an asset, but a willingness to learn and grow in the field is equally valued.

Responsibilities

• Review bids and prepare sunshine letters, surety bonds and invoice preparation.
• Lead by example and assist colleagues in delivering DAU to clients and prospects.
• Delivering continuous excellence in servicing an existing book.
• Collaborate with fellow Leaders within the Edmonton and Calgary branches to deliver the best of Aon to clients and prospects in need of construction advisory service and solutions.
• Identifying specific client and prospect needs and developing innovative and cost effective solutions.
• Ensure all procedures, internal client files and correspondence are in compliance with Aon audit standards.
• Reviewing and revise Surety facilities.
• Coordinating / providing oversight to the account team and establish client service plans that prioritize the account activities and profitability in a value-based approach for the scope of services required.
• Participating in industry sponsored events and improve opportunities to become involved with various industry committees.

In this client-focused role, you\'ll manage surety accounts, identify growth opportunities, and deliver trusted advice and innovative solutions that help businesses thrive.

This position starts in-office to support onboarding and team integration, then transitions to a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
