Qualifications

  • Insurance License Level One or professional designations (CIP, CRM, etc.) are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Own a book of Aon C&I clients with local, national, or global operations.
  • Be primary contact for construction clients to tailor risk management and insurance programs.
  • Manage the 120-day renewal process from renewal report to binding order.
  • Review claims and manage client expectations around claims handling.
  • Collaborate with C&I colleagues to grow Aon's presence in construction in Canada.
  • Build relationships with industry associations, insurer partners, clients, and prospects.
  • Collaborate with Calgary office, C&I teams, and broader Aon network to deliver solutions.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and risks for construction firms.
  • Discover cross-selling and up-selling opportunities for Aon services.
  • Represent Aon at industry events to expand network and brand presence.
  • Monitor accounts receivable statements and collect outstanding premiums.

Account Executive – Construction and Infrastructure

What the day will look like
  • Responsibility for a book of business comprised of Aon C&I clients. These clients can be local, national, or include global contractors with Canadian operations.
  • As the primary point of contact for construction industry clients, the colleague will be responsible for understanding their unique risk management and insurance needs to tailor an insurance program to the risk profile of the business.
  • Managing the 120-day Renewal Process including preparing the renewal report, presenting to client for approval, obtaining the binding order, and reviewing policy documentation and delivering to client in a timely manner
  • Reviewing of claims and managing the client expectations around claims handling
  • Working with C&I colleagues to develop and complete strategies that grow Aon’s presence in the building and infrastructure industry across Alberta and Canada. This is done in coordination with the National C&I team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry associations, insurer partners, clients, and prospects.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues within the Calgary office, C&I (Canada, North America and Global) and the broader Aon network to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks affecting construction firms.
  • Discover opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling Aon’s suite of services.
  • Represent Aon at industry events, conferences, and association meetings to expand professional network and brand presence.
  • Monitoring client accounts receivable statements, and collecting outstanding premium owing.
How this opportunity is different

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Construction & Infrastructure (C&I) practice group within Aon Risk Solutions.

As an Account Executive you’ll be focused on service and retention of existing client accounts, along with development of new revenue opportunities: including both new accounts and new to existing opportunities, such as project placements, and presenting options on new coverages. The Account Executive works to coordinate all Aon resources and to bring the best of Aon to each client.

To succeed, you need to be a great teammate working with a local group of risk and insurance professionals supported by a wealth of additional national resources, all dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to business in the construction industry.
