POSITION TYPE PART-TIME, 20 HOURS/WEEK (Days, Evenings, Overnights) (Two Weekend Shifts Required/Month)
The Opportunity: Velma’s House is an Indigenous led, low-barrier safe space for women and gender diverse folks who are unsheltered, experiencing sexual exploitation or gender-based violence. Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, Part-Time Support Workers are responsible for the day-to-day interactions with relatives accessing the safe space and a variety of resources offered. Our safe space serves as a place of comfort, connection, and safety, with an emphasis on meeting the immediate safety needs of those who need it most, when they need it most.
