Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a caring Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities in our Community Support and Holiday Service. You will help build confidence, independence and fulfilment through work, education and leisure activities, including holidays.

The role requires PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration, with full training provided. We value compassionate teamwork and the ability to support individuals in choosing and pursuing meaningful activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care is welcomed but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• Membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the SSSC are required.
• You may hold or be willing to achieve the SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care (depending on role).
• Experience or qualification in supporting autistic people would be welcomed but isn't essential.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.
• Encourage independence and build confidence in everyday life.
• Help people access employment, education, volunteering and leisure opportunities.
• Accompany individuals to community activities, appointments and holidays.
• Support health and wellbeing, including physical activities where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with individuals, families and other professionals.
• Complete accurate records using digital systems.
• Promote dignity, choice and person-centred support.
