Job summary

Communitas in Canada is seeking a Support Worker to help persons served live meaningful lives in group living settings, aligning with our values.

You will support across physical, emotional, social, spiritual, educational, and medical needs, promoting dignity, choice, and personal growth.

Shifts include days, evenings, overnights and weekends; in-house training provided; competitive wages and a strong benefits package for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Community Support Worker certificate; in-house training if you do not have this certificate.
• Class 5 BC Driver's License with ability to obtain Class 4 within 3–6 months after hire.
• Personal Driving Record.
• Emergency First Aid Certificate.
• Doctor's Note of Good Health.

TheSupport Workersupports the persons served in leading fulfilling lives within group living settings, in alignment with the philosophy and values of Communitas. It ensures that each person's physical, emotional, social, spiritual, educational, and medical needs are met throughout all stages of life - including end-of-life care.This role focuses on fostering dignity, choice, and personal growth, helping each person served reach their fullest potential while honoring their unique journey.

Here's what we need from you:

• The ability to take initiative with creativity and flexibility
• The ability to work as a member of a team as well as being able to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness and ability to provide coverage for a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights (awake) and weekends
• Community Support Worker certificate; we provide in-house training if you do not have this certificate
• Possession of a Class 5 BC Drivers License with the ability to obtain a Class 4 BC Driver's License 3-6 months after hire
• Personal Driving Record
• Emergency First Aid Certificate
• Doctor's Note of Good Health
