Job summary

• Support waste, linen, and cleaning duties, incl. bio waste handling.
• Handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lb and standing for long periods.

DEPARTMENT: SUPPORT SERVICES POSITION LOCATION: MEAFORD UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU SERVICE STATUS: PART-TIME REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT WAGE RATE: $26.426 - $27.085 Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the Support Service Worker performs a variety of functions in both the Support Service and Food Service Departments.You will perform a variety of functions in the food service area including assembling trays, taking patient meal orders as well as delivery and retrieval of patient’s trays, serving, stocking and setting up food items and supplies in designated pantries. You will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the food preparation area and performing cross-functional duties as required.You will perform a variety of functions in the housekeeping area including various cleaning and disinfecting duties in both clinical and public areas of the facility. These include cleaning and disinfecting equipment, cleaning all clinical, public and support areas in the facility, project cleaning, distribution and collection of linens, bio waste, waste and recycling materials. Ability to perform activities requiring considerable standing, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing and transferring material is required
