CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill the existing role of Supply Chain Intern (May to August; Approximately 4 Months).
Purpose
The Supply Chain Intern plays a key supporting role in day‑to‑day supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment that serves the oil and gas sector. This internship provides hands‑on experience across the full supply chain spectrum, including procurement, logistics, materials planning, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with procurement of raw materials, engineered components, MRO items, and fabrication services.
- Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance for time‑sensitive and safety‑critical materials.
- Support inventory management for production lines, including stock level monitoring, cycle counts, and material replenishment.
- Help maintain accurate data in ERP systems (SAP, AccPac, Mysis or similar) related to materials, BOMs, and work orders.
- Coordinate with logistics teams on inbound shipments, customs documentation, and transportation for domestic and international suppliers.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, risks, and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Participate in supplier qualification activities, including gathering documentation and supporting audits.
- Assist in developing and updating SOPs related to procurement, warehousing, and material handling.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, HSE, and quality teams to ensure materials meet technical and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency.
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualification Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with interest in technical products and manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage with suppliers and support negotiation activities.
- Curiosity and confidence in learning negotiation techniques such as cost analysis, quote comparison, and value‑based discussions.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Interest in the oil and gas sector, manufacturing operations, and industrial supply chains.
- Awareness of safety culture and willingness to follow HSE guidelines.
Education and/or Experience
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Must be part of a qualifying co‑operative education program.
- Strong Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) skills.
- ERP experience (e.g., ACCPAC and SAP knowledge) is an asset.
- Previous office administrative and supply chain working experience is an asset.
