Job summary

Modine is seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure that components and materials used in HVAC systems meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The role collaborates with suppliers, procurement, engineering, and manufacturing to drive defect prevention and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include quality planning (APQP, FMEA, PPAP), 8D problem solving, root-cause analysis, metrics tracking, and supplier audits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a quality-related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 implementation.
• Proficiency in problem solving and critical decision making.
• Working knowledge of analytical quality processes.

• Initiate and participate in 8D problem solving meetings with customers, suppliers or internal teams.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Track quality-related metrics and communicate results at all levels of the organization.
• Participate in the internal audit program and lead corrective actions.
• Analyze non-conformances and customer feedback to focus on reliability improvements.
• Analyze vendor quality performance and conduct vendor audits as required.
• Implement statistical analysis based on manufacturing tolerances to identify weak points.

Position Description

The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (SQE) – is responsible for ensuring that supplied components, subassemblies, and materials used in HVAC systems meet company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role partners closely with suppliers, procurement, engineering, and manufacturing to drive defect prevention, supplier capability, and continuous improvement across HVAC-specific components and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Be actively involved in quality planning (Control Plans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Gauging).
• Initiate and participate in 8D Problem solving meetings with customers, suppliers or internal.
• Conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Tracking quality-related metrics and communicating the results to all levels of the organization.
• Participating in the internal audit program and leading the corrective actions.
• Analyzing non-conformances, and customer feedback to focus on reliability improvement in all required areas.
• Analyze vendor quality performance and engage in various improvement and corrective actions. Setting up vendor audit schedules and performing vendor audits, as required.
• Implementing statistical analysis based on manufacturing tolerances to identify week points and non-conformances.

Required Education & Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in engineering, manufacturing or quality-assurance.
• 3+ years' experience in a quality-related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge with various analytical quality processes.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 implementation.
• Strong proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in problem solving and critical decision making.
