Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Ontario, Canada seeks a Supervisor, Quality to coordinate daily activities of the Quality department and ensure schedules and targets are met. You will lead inspectors, mentor staff, and support product launches with robust quality planning.

Key responsibilities include overseeing calibration and testing procedures, interpreting blueprints and GD&T, and driving continuous improvement to reduce waste.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in a quality or manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Knowledge of SPC, TS16949/ISO14001, MSA, PPAP, APQP.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Quality inspectors and Gauge Technicians.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and supervision of Quality personnel.
• Develop and recommend test procedures for products and materials; support production requirements.
• Evaluate employees through performance reviews and coaching.
• Support product launches and contribute to quality planning.
• Oversee implementation of quality standards, programs, and processes to reduce waste.
• Support IATF internal audits and participate in LPA.

Job Title: Supervisor, Quality

Coordinates daily activities of the Quality department. Prioritizes and assigns tasks to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively, and that work schedules and targets are met. Monitors the performance of equipment and processes; identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves scheduling problems to maintain efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Quality inspectors and Gauge Technicians in the facility.
• Provides leadership, mentoring and supervision of Quality personnel.
• Develops and recommends test procedures for products, raw materials and maintains test equipment. Supports production requirements.
• Evaluate employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching, and feedback.
• Support product launches and be involved in quality planning.
• Oversee efficient implementation of quality standards, programs, and processes to improve operational efficiencies and reduce production waste.
• Supports IATF internal audit system and participates in LPA.

Academic/Educational Requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• ASQ Certification and/or certificate in QA Program an asset.

Required Skills/Experience

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a quality or manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Functional knowledge of SPC, TS16949 / ISO14001, MSA, PPAP and APQP.
• CMM Programming experience is an asset.
• Ability to use basic computer applications and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
