Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Ontario is seeking a General Supervisor to oversee daily production operations and ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met. The role focuses on leadership, mentoring, and driving productivity across Production Supervisors and their teams.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of supervisory manufacturing experience, strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, and familiarity with safety regulations and employee legislation.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Relevant certifications in production management or lean manufacturing are an asset.
• Five to seven years of experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production processes, lean manufacturing principles, and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with employee legislation and safety standards.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the performance of Production Supervisors and their respective teams.
• Ensure that daily production targets are met in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, and quality assurance, to resolve production issues and improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor and report on KPIs for the production department, identifying areas for improvement.
• Implement and uphold safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead daily production meetings to track progress, address challenges, and provide solutions for continuous improvement.
• Develop and coach Production Supervisors, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
• Assist in strategic planning and resource allocation to optimize production processes and meet long-term business goals.
• Handle personnel matters such as hiring, performance evaluations, and discipline in coordination with the Human Resources department.
