Job summary

UFA is seeking a Supervisor, Project Controls in Alberta to oversee project logistics and contractor performance for structural projects. You will coordinate with Building Sales, manage budgets, schedules, and quality, and act as the primary customer contact for project delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in construction management, strong supervisory experience, and proficiency with drawings and SAP/ERP systems. Travel across Alberta and a safety-first mindset are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction management or project controller experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in laminated post construction.
  • High school diploma required; college diploma in buildings related field is an asset.
  • Ability to read construction/installation drawings.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • SAP or other ERP Project Systems experience is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Alberta (50%-80% of time).

Responsibilities

  • Final review of project requirements, materials, budget, and schedule with Building Sales team.
  • Manage contractors and subtrades – schedules, purchase orders, and quality control.
  • Supervise project-specific functions and KPI’s of the in-house estimating team.
  • Manage engineering and permit inspections.
  • Manage project kick-off progress and final project inspections.
  • Be the key contact for customer warranty issues – evaluation and resolution.
  • Supervise Project Controls team’s day-to-day activities based on project objectives and customer needs.
  • Possible involvement in pricing for internal and external change orders with authority to direct building material requisitions.
  • Read, understand, and comply with UFA's Health, Safety, Environment Policies and SOPs.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Buildings, the Supervisor, Project Controls is responsible for overseeing the project logistics and contractor performance for UFA structures projects. This position will function as a direct contact with customers for the purpose of ensuring that all quality, budget, and schedule expectations are explained and achieved.

This is a safety sensitive position as will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
