Job summary

DIRTT Environmental Solutions, Ltd. in Calgary is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the Metal Production team, coordinating daily operations to ensure safety, quality and on-time output in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will coach staff, plan production with the scheduling group, implement quality controls, manage resources, and drive improvements while maintaining a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, manufacturing, or related field is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor production staff to meet production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the production planning team to schedule and prioritize production orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to minimize defects.
  • Allocate resources, including personnel and equipment, to optimize output.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and safety training is conducted.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Who You Are:

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to join our Metal Manufacturing Team. As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the Metal Production department, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. You will play a pivotal part in achieving our production goals and maintaining a productive workforce.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor production staff to ensure they meet production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the production planning team to schedule and prioritize production orders, ensuring on-time delivery of products.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to maintain product quality and minimize defects.
  • Allocate resources, including personnel and equipment, efficiently to optimize production output.
  • Ensure all employees follow safety protocols and participate in safety training programs to maintain a safe and accident-free workplace.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Monitor and manage raw materials and finished goods inventory to ensure adequate supplies for production.
  • Maintain accurate records of production metrics, including output, downtime, and quality, and analyze data to make data-driven decisions.
  • Foster a positive work environment by providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Address and resolve any employee issues or conflicts that may arise within the production team.
  • Work with cross functional teams to remedy immediate issues and holistic root-cause solutions.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Metal production processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to think logically, analytically, and solve problems.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced high stress environment.
  • Accountable, and able to make decisions independently.
  • Able to self-manage time based on scheduled workload.
