This is a safety-sensitive position, the successful candidate(s) will be required to successfully complete mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol testing to comply with SaskPower’s Fit for Duty Policy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Supervise, coach and train staff and monitor and participate in staff performance evaluation
  2. Coordinate and monitor work of assigned staff, engaging others to reach goals and objectives
  3. Proactively anticipate potential problems, identify core issues, and resolve them effectively
  4. Make independent day-to-day decisions responsibly
  5. Follow a methodical approach to decision making and task completion
  6. Implement departmental strategies, work plans, schedules, coaching, feedback, and performance reviews
  7. Lead staff development and performance management to maintain high departmental performance
  8. Participate in daily work activities, including administrative and communication tasks
  9. Develop, implement, and maintain processes, standards, and procedures, including training
  10. Recommend improvements for employee performance and service quality
  11. Enforce safety and environmental standards and regulations
  12. Engage in continuous professional development
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certificate or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of related Distribution District experience as a Journeyperson Powerline Technician or equivalent
  • Ability to supervise and foster a team environment
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills
  • Professional and courteous handling of all situations
  • Ability to develop relationships and influence others
  • Capability to handle pressure and resolve conflicts
  • Strong prioritization and coordination skills
  • Proficiency in standard software applications
  • Valid Class 1A driver’s license

This position is within the scope of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 2067.

Candidates may be required to participate in assessments such as interviews, tests, case studies, or presentations.
