Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance (MEL01669) to lead the maintenance team at the Meliadine Mine in Canada. Reporting to the General Supervisor - Mobile Maintenance, you will oversee preventive, corrective and modification maintenance on mobile equipment while upholding health and safety standards and company culture.

The role requires 5 years of mining maintenance experience, underground exposure is an asset, and strong planning with CMMS; travel and remote

Qualifications

• Maintenance technician/technologist or certified tradesperson with college maintenance education.
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience in mining operations.
• Underground mining experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of surface and underground mobile equipment.
• Proficiency with maintenance planning using a CMMS; JDE experience is an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of precision maintenance concepts is an asset.
• Knowledge of subcontract management is an asset.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplined team.
• Strong MS Office Suite skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach a multidisciplinary maintenance team of mechanics.
• Evaluate work orders with the General Supervisor and organize weekly jobs to execute.
• Plan and approve maintenance for urgent cases.
• Ensure maintenance is performed properly and on schedule.
• Verify procedures before acting and communicate them to the team.
• Review KPIs and decide on corrective actions.
• Assist in preparing the departmental budget and ensure budget adherence.
• Transfer information clearly across shifts and lead by example.

Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the General Supervisor - Mobile Maintenance, you will be part of the Maintenance Department.

• Ensure good maintenance practices of the team under your supervision in terms of the preventive, corrective, and modification maintenance on mobile equipment, as well as playing a key role in the execution and follow-up of the performed maintenance duties. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are attained, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's company culture, health and safety code of conduct, and the environment.
• Supervise and coach a multidisciplinary maintenance team of mechanics;
• Evaluate work order requests with the General Supervisor and organize the weekly jobs to execute according to the weekly schedule and to the level of urgency; may plan and approve the maintenance to be done for urgent cases;
• Ensure that preventative and corrective maintenance work is being performed properly and on schedule;
• Verify the adequate procedure(s) to follow before acting, apply these and communicate these clearly to the team;
• Review key performance indicators (KPIs), decide on corrective measures to be taken and communicate these to the team;
• Assist the General Supervisors with the preparation of the departmental budget and ensure that budget is respected;
• Apply the principles and practices of the Supervision Formula;
• Lead by example by applying and reviewing the best operations practices in the everyday job;
• Ensure proper transfer of information with the cross shift.

What You Need to Succeed

• Maintenance Technician/Technologist, certified tradesman, or a combination of education (graduate of college maintenance program);
• 5 years of maintenance experience in mining operations or relevant experience;
• Underground mining experience is considered an asset;
• Knowledge of surface and underground mobile equipment;
• Proficiency in maintenance planning using a CMMS, JDE experience would be considered an asset;
• In-depth knowledge of precision maintenance concepts is considered an asset;
• Knowledge of subcontract management is considered an asset;
• Experience leading a multi-disciplined team;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.

Your Work Schedule

• Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
