Compass Group Canada is seeking a Catering Supervisor to lead a fine-dining servers team, plan and coordinate service for scheduled functions, and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages with strict adherence to event standards.

Position requires a Food Handler Certificate and bar service certification, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience in a fast-paced setting. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Responsible Beverage Service Certificate for the province you are applying in.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar environment.
  • Ability to read event orders and organize deliveries for the day.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule the serving team to meet all meeting requirements.
  • Ensure assembly and delivery of all food and beverages for catered functions to scheduled locations.
  • Perform room inspections to ensure setups meet event standards.
  • Log and monitor food temperatures.
  • Assist with food and table prep before events begin.
  • Arrange buffet tables with food, beverages, and service items as per standards.
  • Execute bar and reception events, including beer, wine, and cocktails service.
  • Serve plated dinners and attend to beverage requests from guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of display equipment during service and post-event cleanup.

Job description

The hourly wage rate for this position is $26 . Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. How you will make an impact:

You will be responsible for leading a team of fine-dining servers, responsible for delivering and serving food and beverages at scheduled functions.

As a Catering Supervisor, you will:
  • Plan and schedule the serving team to ensure all meeting requirements are met.
  • Ensure the assembly and delivery of all food and beverages for catered functions to their scheduled locations
  • Conduct room inspections prior to meeting commencement, to ensure room is set to standards of the event.
  • Log and maintain food temperatures
  • Assist with food and table prep before events begin
  • Arrange buffet tables with food, beverage, and service items according to standards
  • Execute Bar & reception events, including the preparation & service of beer, wine, & cocktails
  • Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers, and other needs
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
  • Thoroughly clean location after event is completed and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks
  • Return food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to catering facility
  • Stock, clean and maintain catering facility and equipment
  • Ensure guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the complete menu and products on hand
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
  • Follow safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times
About you:
  • You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate for the province in which you are applying
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar environment
  • Able to accurately read event orders and organize deliveries for the day
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Extremely well organized and efficient; able to multi-task
  • Good attention to detail
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
