Job summary

EHN Canada, the nation’s largest private network of mental health, trauma, and addiction treatment facilities, is seeking a Supervisor, Clinical Programs in Toronto. You will lead a clinical team, supervise staff, and ensure trauma-informed care across after-hours and weekend shifts, collaborating with other Supervisors to integrate care.

The ideal candidate brings a Master’s degree in social work or psychology, 3–5 years in mental health/addictions, and at least 2 years of leadership

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or related field; regulation by a college may apply.
• Minimum 3–5 years in mental health and addictions; residential care an asset.
• Minimum 2 years leadership experience; people management skills.
• Regulatory college membership in good standing required.
• Experience with ACT, CBT, DBT, CPT, exposure therapy, etc.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the clinical team after hours and on weekends.
• Supervise clinical development of counselling, nursing and support staff.
• Support performance reviews through ongoing feedback to the Clinical Manager.
• Onboard and orient new staff, including clinical content and discharge planning.
• Promote trauma-informed care aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
• Assist recruitment and selection processes for staff.
• Contribute to new processes and initiatives as directed by leadership.
• Address client safety concerns and investigate complaints as required.
• Document clinical issues after hours with clear communication to teams.
• Participate in leadership meetings and provide client-progress-based recommendations.
• Support accountability framework for clients in recovery and pursue professional development.

Overview:

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Supervisor, Clinical Programs plays a key role in supporting a team of clinicians, providing supervision, guidance, and coaching to ensure the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the program. The Supervisors, Clinical Manager, and Clinical Director work collaboratively to assess, treat, and support clients seeking help for substance, as well as concurrent mental health challenges.

This role ensures that clinical care is delivered with a trauma-informed approach, and coordinates with other Supervisors to ensure seamless and consistent delivery of services after hours and on weekends. This includes close collaboration with the Supervisor responsible for the Addictions and Mental Health Support Worker team to ensure integration of care across various disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a deep commitment to providing high-quality, client-centered care. They will be passionate about working within an interdisciplinary team to improve client outcomes and support the ongoing development of clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute feedback to the evaluation of program content, making recommendations to the Clinical Manager for revisions and improvements, as required using evidence-based practices.
• On site leadership to clinical team members after hours and on weekends as needed.
• Supervision and support of clinical development of counselling, nursing and support worker staff.
• Supports clinical manager providing ongoing feedback and input to performance review processes.
• Supports the effective and thorough onboarding and orientation of new staff which may include clinical content of sessions, client expectations, administrative processes, maintenance of excellent referent communication, outcome measures and discharge planning/summaries.
• In addition, ensures clinicians understand and live the organization’s mission, purpose and values while employing evidence-based therapy through a trauma informed lens.
• Participates with the Clinical Manager and provides input into the recruitment and selection process for staff.
• Participates in the development and implementation of new processes or initiatives as directed and completes projects as assigned by the Clinical Director or Clinical Manager.
• Is attentive to and intervenes on any client safety issues and investigates client concerns and complaints as required.
• Completes detailed documentation and charting appropriately for clinical issues arising after hours and ensures proper communication to all teams.
• Participates in leadership meetings where possible and consultation as required and makes recommendations on basis of the client progress
• Support a framework of accountability for clients in their recovery
• Engages in personal professional development, maintains appropriate professional associations, and provides current documentation to the Human Resources Department
• Provides supervision for students in placement at Bellwood
• Undertakes Quality Assurance activities as assigned including completion of outcome measures
• Engages in continued training provided by EHN, and other educational opportunities and benefits of interest to the clinician.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in social work, psychology or related discipline. Individuals with a BA degree in related field may be considered with commensurate experience and regulated with college.
• Minimum three to five years of mental health and addictions related experience; residential care experience considered an asset.
• Minimum of two years' experience in leadership, including demonstrated knowledge of people management practices based on best practice.
• Membership and good standing with a regulatory college required.
• Experience with a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities (ACT, CBT, DBT, CPT, exposure therapy, etc.) required.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills to intervene in clinically complex situations.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in a complex and fast-paced environment.
