Qualifications

Job description

General Information:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Supervisor plans, organizes, coordinates and controls activities relating to his/her production workshop. He/she is accountable for compliance with standards, production deadlines and the productivity of his/her team in terms of quality and delivery of manufactured products. As leader of his group, he is responsible for health and safety, support, training and the development of each person's potential. He must also make sound use of the financial and material resources at his disposal.

In addition, as a team member, he/she acts as an advisor to his/her immediate superior and as a representative of the company.

2 positions: 1 Evening shift– 16h00-00h30 / 1 night shift 00h30 – 07h30

Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a coach and supervise employees in order to motivate them at work.
  2. Determine and maximize employee performance by identifying development needs and ensuring follow-up.
  3. Monitor workshop activities and follow up regularly with the group leader to ensure alignment with the production plan and established deadlines.
  4. Participate actively in the daily production review. Report on the progress of various objectives, communicate problems encountered and actions taken.
  5. Manage work attendance and monitor employee presence.
  6. Apply collective agreement articles fairly and consistently.
  7. Actively participate in all disciplinary processes.
  8. Ensure efficient use of human and material resources.
  9. Ensure that all information relevant to the employee's work is communicated to them, and that it is properly justified.
  10. Maintain and/or improve budgeted productivity levels.
  11. Ensure knowledge and consistent application of procedures.
  12. Support continuous process improvement on the shop floor.
  13. Rigorously apply the sections of the quality assurance manual related to his/her work.
  14. Satisfy the needs of internal and external customers by meeting their expectations.
  15. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  16. Ensure compliance with environmental, governmental and corporate health and safety standards.
  17. Responsible and accountable for shop budget.

Qualifications:

  1. College or university degree in operations management or any other combination of relevant training and experience.
  2. 5 to 8 years' experience supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Knowledge of value-added production (Lean Manufacturing) and/or Lean 6-Sigma certification is a strong asset.
  4. Experience in a unionized environment.
