Job summary

Artemis Gold Inc. is seeking a Superintendent – Crusher Operations at the Blackwater Mine site in British Columbia.

You will oversee and direct the crushing circuit operations, collaborating with Processing, Mine Operations, and Maintenance to ensure safe, reliable production and alignment with the mine plan. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Professional designation or certification in related discipline is an asset.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in crushing, ore handling, fixed plant, or mining operations.
  • Minimum 5 years in progressive supervisory or superintendent roles in crushing, ore handling, or fixed plant operations.
  • Knowledge of crushing and ore handling methods including primary, secondary, and tertiary circuits.
  • Understanding of crusher planning, feed management, and production scheduling.
  • Experience with crushers, conveyors, feeders, and stockpile management systems.
  • Ability to work long shifts in a continuous operation and remote camp rotation.
  • Willingness to live/work in a remote location camp with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety leadership in the crushing area following BW Gold standards.
  • Collaborate with Processing, Mine Operations, and Maintenance to deliver operating strategy for crushing.
  • Partner with Maintenance to maximize crushing circuit availability and performance.
  • Implement operating practices and routines ensuring compliance and performance.
  • Contribute to development and monitoring of the crushing budget.
  • Support achievement of production targets with throughput and product quality.
  • Stay updated on regulations and site standards; communicate them to the team.
  • Review operational data and suggest improvements to performance and reliability.
  • Plan and coordinate short-to-long term crushing requirements and upgrades.
  • Identify opportunities to improve crushing performance and efficiency.
  • Support onboarding and development of operational staff in the crushing team.
  • Set expectations and promote accountability and safe practices across shifts.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
Professional designation or certification in related discipline (asset)
Leadership experience in supervisory roles
Experience in mining operations
Remote site camp rotation experience

Overview

Reporting to the Manager – Crusher Operations, the Superintendent – Crusher Operations is responsible for overseeing and directing the efficient operation of the crushing circuit and all associated activities such as planning, staffing, budgeting, cost control, and operational performance. Evaluates production and cost information and provides guidance in the development of operational plans and priorities. As part of the management team contributes to the establishment of the overall strategy for crushing and materials handling within the processing function.

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

Schedule: Three (3) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities
  • Provide strong safety leadership in the crushing area by ensuring BW Gold safety standards, procedures, and systems are followed, while actively promoting a safe and accountable work culture across all shifts.
  • Work closely with Processing, Mine Operations, and Maintenance to help develop and deliver a practical operating strategy for the crushing circuit that supports safe, reliable production and meets downstream processing needs.
  • Foster a strong partnership with Fixed Plant Maintenance to support safe and efficient maintenance execution, improve equipment reliability, coordinate shutdowns and outages, and maximize crushing circuit availability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain effective operating practices, procedures, and routines to support consistent performance, good operational control, and compliance with site and industry requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of the crushing budget, ensuring costs are understood, tracked, and managed in line with production and business objectives.
  • Support the achievement of production targets by ensuring throughput, availability, and product quality are aligned with the mine plan, and help resolve operational issues as they arise.
  • Stay up to date with relevant regulations and site standards, and ensure requirements are clearly communicated and followed within the crushing team.
  • Provide input to the Processing leadership team by reviewing operational data, identifying constraints, and suggesting practical improvements to improve performance and reliability.
  • Support the planning and coordination of short-to-long term crushing requirements, including sustaining capital, upgrades, and expansion projects.
  • Identify and support opportunities to improve crushing performance, reliability, and efficiency through better practices, equipment use, and operating methods.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and development of operational staff within the crushing team.
  • Help ensure effective day-to-day team performance by setting expectations, monitoring progress, and encouraging accountability, teamwork, and safe work practices across all shifts.
  • May be required to maintain a clean‑shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline required
  • Professional designation or certification in a related discipline considered an asset
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in crushing, ore handling, fixed plant, or mining operations
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a supervisory, general foreman, or superintendent‑level role within crushing, ore handling, or fixed plant operations
  • Working knowledge of crushing and ore handling methods and procedures, including primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing circuits
  • Good understanding of technical and operating processes relevant to crusher planning, feed management, and production scheduling
  • Strong awareness of equipment performance, including crushers, conveyors, feeders, and stockpile management systems
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance, focus, and decision‑making over extended 12‑hour shifts in a continuous operation setting
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a rotational schedule
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
