Job summary

Ledcor Group in Kelowna, BC seeks a seasoned Superintendent with 5+ years of field operations experience to manage multi-disciplinary commercial, institutional, or residential construction projects. You will drive day-to-day site activities, ensure safety, schedule, cost, and quality, and coordinate field staff, contractors, and stakeholders.

You will develop and implement project plans, uphold Ledcor’s safety and quality programs, and mentor less-experienced team members to support project

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent role.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams on commercial/institutional/residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S standards and construction safety practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with senior management stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff to ensure successful delivery of construction projects to completion.
  • Promote site safety program and enforce compliance with Ledcor standards and HSE plan.
  • Ensure field staff have resources to complete projects per plans, specs, and codes.
  • Contribute to pre-bid and preconstruction activities including layout, logistics, scheduling and workforce planning.
  • Maintain project schedule, identify delays, and lead solution development.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants.
  • Lead site operations and mentor junior team members.

Job description

You are a seasoned Superintendent with 5+ years of field operations experience managing multi-disciplinary commercial, institutional, or residential construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day management of field activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will develop and implement project plans and schedules, uphold company safety and quality programs, and coordinate the work of field staff, contractors, trades, and project stakeholders. Working independently with minimal supervision, you will lead site operations, proactively resolve challenges, and serve as a mentor and resource for less-experienced team members. Your leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence will support the successful execution of project objectives and contribute to the organization's continued growth and success across commercial, institutional, and light industrial sectors.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Oversee staff to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects to completion
  • Promotes the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards, the Health Safety and Environmental Plan (HSE Plan), and all applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes
  • Ensures that field staff are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes
  • Actively participates in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning
  • Review and maintain schedule, ensure milestones are met, identify scheduling issues and delays and lead solution development
  • Maintains strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants
  • Supports and promotes Ledcor’s core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability and success
  • Managing hourly employees as required, including forepersons, carpenters, and labour staff
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction experience in a Superintendent position
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Experience with residential or commercial projects
  • Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education
  • Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations
Working Conditions

Site-based position in Kelowna, BC Travel requirements may arise in support of project and business operations

Compensation

Compensation $100,000.00 - $137,500.00 This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
