Position Overview

We are the Heart of the East! Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to advance their career as a Summer Student in a Temporary Full-Time position. Join us as a Summer Student and help create care inspired by community in East Toronto! You will work on various projects and initiatives in collaboration with different departments across the hospital and external partners.

This position is supported by the Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet the program's minimum requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support projects and initiatives, including daily operations, planning, logistics, and communications.
  • Assist with documenting best practices to ensure sustainability.
  • Provide operational support to staff, physicians, and patient project work.
  • Assist with data modeling, analysis, evaluation, and report writing.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Education

  • High school diploma required.
  • Enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program required. Healthcare-related, digital experience, or graphic design experience is preferred.

Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong tact and diplomacy with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in information gathering, synthesis, and summarization.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documents.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skills to translate 2D drawings into immersive 3D environments and create interactive VR experiences are assets.
  • Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario and safety policies.
  • Commitment to a culture of safety for patients and staff.
