Job description

SUMMER STUDENT

Position Overview

As a Summer Student at Pegasus, you’ll keep our lab, warehouse, and office ruthlessly organized while gaining first-hand exposure to aerospace hardware, software, and go-to-market execution. Roughly 70 % of your time will focus on cataloguing parts, maintaining workspaces, and assisting with light labour. The other 30 % is your runway: you’ll propose and deliver a project aligned to your interests—whether that’s building a test jig, scripting an inventory dashboard, or producing a product reel.

About Pegasus

Pegasus is an aerospace-technology company that delivers real-time situational awareness and predictive insights for civil, commercial, and military aviation. Our mission is to mitigate risk and unlock performance—even in harsh weather—through advanced sensors, data analytics, and alerting systems. 2025-CHIEF OF STAFF

Role Overview

You’ll be embedded with our Operations team and paired with a mentor from engineering, software, or marketing. Expect fast feedback cycles, lots of hands-on work, and a culture that prizes grit, curiosity, and results.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Asset Control

  • Sort, label, and barcode electronic components, sensors, and tooling.
  • Create and maintain
an inventory including everything from radar systems to washers and thermistors.

Facilities & Logistics

  • Keep benches, parts cages, and shipping areas organized and safe.
  • Assist with incoming/outgoing shipments, light assembly, and tool-crib upkeep.

General Ops Support

  • Help with office/warehouse administration, demo setups, and event prep.
  • Operate basic hand tools safely.

Project Ownership

  • After week 2, propose a scoped project in one track (Engineering/Electronics, Software/App Dev, or Marketing/Comms) and drive it to delivery with mentor guidance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in college or university (engineering, CS, business, or related).
  • Demonstrated work ethic—summer jobs, side hustles, or volunteer roles where you got things done.
  • Attention to detail; you notice mismatched labels and fix them unprompted.
  • Self-starter comfortable with minimal hand-holding in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace or MS Office; bonus for CAD, Python, or Adobe skills.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada for the full term.

Key Attributes

  • Gritty, resourceful, and outcome-oriented.
  • Curious and eager to learn across disciplines.
  • Comfortable with physical tasks and computer work.
  • Team player who communicates clearly and takes feedback well.

Why Join Us?

  • Front-row seat at a venture-backed aerospace startup solving real flight-safety problems.
  • Hands-on mentorship from engineers, product managers, and founders.
  • Portfolio credit—ship a tangible project you can demo at school or your next internship.
  • Future runway—top performers get first call on co-op, thesis, or full-time roles.
