Position: Whistler Summer Program Assistant to support the delivery of WAS summer programs and lessons.
Term: Start date June 16, 2025. End date August 31st, 2025
Hours: 35hrs/week, schedule dependent on programming needs (may vary during initial two-week training period)
Wage: $22:00/hr
Whistler Adaptive Sports is committed to introducing individuals with a range of disabilities or neurodiversity to sport and recreation by breaking down the financial, physical, and social barriers that prevent full participation. We offer multiple different sports programs, between Pemberton, Whistler and Squamish.
Duties: The Whistler Summer Program Assistant plays an integral role in the summer operations of Whistler Adaptive Sports. In the summer, we offer hiking, mountain biking (2 & 3 wheel), paddle sports (canoeing, SUP and kayaking), yoga, and more to people with cognitive and physical disabilities and neurodiversity. The Summer Program staff will help our coaches assess students, determine adaptive equipment needs, set goals and plan lessons, lead or assist activities, document progress, maintain records, and assist our coaches to make recommendations for future programming. They will also assist with general administration, marketing, communications and fundraising as needed. This position will report to the Whistler Head Coach.
