Job summary

Clintar is seeking a motivated and dependable Landscape Lead & Winter Operations Supervisor to join our team in a year-round leadership role. This position offers a unique opportunity to take on different responsibilities throughout the year and lead both summer landscape and winter snow operations.

During the summer, you will direct a small crew, perform maintenance, and operate equipment while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in landscape maintenance, snow and ice management, construction, or related outdoor services.
  • Valid G driver's licence.
  • Previous crew lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, landscaping equipment and small-engine tools.
  • Experience with landscape maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Snow removal and winter operations experience is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to direct and supervise a small team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and weather conditions.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a small team of landscape technicians, labourers, and seasonal workers.
  • Assign daily tasks and provide direction to ensure work is completed efficiently and to company quality standards.
  • Work hands-on alongside the crew to complete landscape maintenance and enhancement work.
  • Perform lawn care tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, fertilizing, and general property maintenance.
  • Assist with landscaping projects including planting, pruning, moving soil and mulch, and other enhancement work.
  • Operate landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other small-engine equipment.
  • Coordinate daily truck and trailer loading and unloading.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, trucks, and trailers are properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Monitor job progress and ensure work is completed within expected timelines.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all company health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and address questions or concerns appropriately.
  • Report equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, property damage, accidents, or other operational issues to management.
  • Coordinate and supervise day-to-day winter field operations within an assigned territory.
  • Direct and oversee winter supervisors, snow removal crews, and seasonal winter staff.
  • Assist with planning manpower, equipment, materials, and resources required for snow and ice operations.
  • Monitor weather forecasts and operational requirements to ensure appropriate resources are deployed.
  • Coordinate snow removal, salting, de-icing, and other winter service activities.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor service quality and ensure customer properties are being maintained to Clintar standards.
  • Monitor employee productivity, work quality, attendance, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Assist with the orientation, training, and supervision of winter employees.
  • Provide direction and support to crews and supervisors during snow events.
  • Identify and report equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, property damage, vehicle issues, and other operational concerns to management.
  • Ensure equipment and vehicles are properly maintained, inspected, and ready for winter operations.
  • Assist with short-term planning and keep management informed of operational decisions and concerns.
  • Assist with employee performance management and corrective action when necessary.
  • Respond to customer service issues and assist in resolving customer complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workplace in accordance with company policies and health and safety requirements.

During the winter season, the role transitions into a broader Area Supervisor position, overseeing snow and ice operations within an assigned territory. Winter responsibilities include coordinating crews and equipment, supporting scheduling and planning, conducting site visits, addressing operational and customer service concerns, and ensuring properties are serviced safely, efficiently, and on time.
