Manulife John Hancock invites students to join the Meeting & Event Management Summer Internship, offering hands-on experience in planning and executing conferences, meetings, webinars, and special events across North American businesses.

You will work with the Marketing team, support event professionals, and gain exposure to large-scale corporate events while building a network for your future career in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business, or Communications.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced corporate setting.
  • Previous involvement in student organizations, volunteer initiatives, campus events, hospitality roles, or event planning activities is an asset.
  • Familiarity with event management platforms such as Cvent is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support Event Planners with logistical and administrative coordination of meetings, conferences, webinars, and special events.
  • Assist with attendee registration management, reporting, and event communications while ensuring data accuracy.
  • Prepare event materials including agendas, attendee packages, name badges, and presentation resources.
  • Participate in planning meetings and support project coordination across multiple events and initiatives.
  • Conduct research on venues, suppliers, speakers, and industry best practices to support planning efforts.
  • Support post-event survey collection, reporting, and analysis to measure effectiveness and satisfaction.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance attendee experiences, operational processes, and team efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and support special projects aligned to business objectives.
  • Assist with additional event-related and administrative activities as required.

Position Responsibilities:

Salary range is expected to be between: $40,950 CAD - $56,550 CAD The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. The annual salary will be pro‑rated based on the length of the work term.
