Job summary

Mackenzie Investments is seeking a Summer 2027 intern for the Quality Equity team. Candidates enrolled in an undergraduate program planning to return to school after the internship are eligible.

The team invests in durable, well-run businesses and applies a disciplined approach to research across defensible and growth-oriented strategies. You will work with portfolio managers on company and industry research, financial modeling, and thematic projects.

Position

The Mackenzie Quality Equity team is currently looking for an intern for the Summer 2027 term. Candidates that are in an undergraduate program that will be returning to school after the internship are eligible to apply.

The Quality Equity team invests in durable, well-run businesses that can compound value over time, applying a consistent quality and valuation discipline across strategies from more defensive to more growth-oriented. The team's patient approach results in low-turnover strategies focused on growing capital over full market cycles, and with the intention of rewarding investors who stay the course. The investment process involves rigorous fundamental research and analysis, rooted in intellectual curiosity and humility.

We are looking for an individual that is passionate about investing, identifies with the team's investment style and philosophy, is a strong team player, and is eager to learn and develop. The intern will have the opportunity to work with several portfolio managers on the team on a variety of company and industry-specific research projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with various company and industry-specific research projects. This would entail research on individual companies, financial modeling, industry analysis, etc.
• Undertake other relevant thematic research projects that may be relevant to the team's holdings or markets in general
• Engage in other projects related to the team's portfolios as required.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and returning to school following the Summer 2027 term. While we welcome students in all years and disciplines, preference will be given to those returning for their fourth year of study.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to take initiative, ask the right questions, accept and implement feedback.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple projects.
• A technology-forward mindset, with an interest in adopting new tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness, would be considered an asset.

The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is $68,250 and $78,000, which is determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location and candidate's skills, knowledge and experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for paid time off.
