Job summary

Mackenzie Investments is seeking an Intern Analyst for its Resource team in Investment Management - Resources for the summer term 2027 (May – August). The role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with eligibility to work for the entire duration of the program.

The successful candidate will work under the Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Head of Team Resources, focusing on sustainable development measurement, investment thematic research, and process improvements,

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a master’s degree in science, Business, Economics or Renewable Energy studies.
• Bachelor’s degree in science in a related field is required.
• Basic understanding of financial markets is an asset.
• Passion for the energy transition and strong analytical skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Establish measurement standards (quantitative and qualitative) of sustainable development for our natural resources’ investment universe.
• Research and document investment thematic projects.
• Review business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, including leveraging AI.

Position:

Mackenzie Investments is looking to add an Intern Analyst to its Resource team in the Investment Management - Resources department over the summer term of 2027 (May – August).

This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Head of Team Resources, the ideal candidates are passionate about economics, environment and sustainability, are innovative, intellectually rigorous, curious, productive, and have the highest standard of honesty and integrity. The successful candidate will gain valuable knowledge and skills by being part of a team that has expertise in the diversified resource sector.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a master’s degree in science, Business, Economics or Renewable Energy studies
• Completed a bachelor’s degree in science (Health Sciences, Math and Statistics, Earth & Science, Geology, Psychology, Agriculture Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Economics, or Energy studies)
• Basic understanding of financial markets would be an asset
• Passion for the energy transition
• Functional knowledge of MS Office
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Bilingual (French & English) is an asset

The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is $68,250 and $78,000 which is determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location and candidate’s skills, knowledge and experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for paid time off.
