Job summary

Manulife John Hancock is offering a Technology Internship Program in Toronto, where you’ll gain hands‑on experience building and optimizing data pipelines in an enterprise environment.

As a Data Engineer Intern, you’ll contribute to scalable data systems, learn data architecture and analytics workflows, and join a mentorship‑driven, flexible hybrid team from April 29th to August 19th, 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java).
• Interest in data engineering concepts, including data pipelines and processing.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a team of data engineers focused on building reliable, scalable data systems.
• Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows.
• Assist with data ingestion, transformation, and preparation for reporting and analytics use cases.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to understand data requirements and support solutions.
