Job summary

Manulife John Hancock is offering a Technology Internship Program in Toronto, where you’ll gain hands‑on experience building and optimizing data pipelines in an enterprise environment.

As a Data Engineer Intern, you’ll contribute to scalable data systems, learn data architecture and analytics workflows, and join a mentorship‑driven, flexible hybrid team from April 29th to August 19th, 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java).

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated student to join us in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada office for a summer internship, running from April 29th – August 19th, 2027. This is a hybrid position, where you are expected to be in the office Tuesday‑Thursday, with the opportunity to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Position Responsibilities

• Understanding of large‑scale data processing concepts

Please note the salary range is expected to be between $52,650 CAD to $70,200 CAD. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. The annual salary will be pro‑rated based on the length of the work‑term.
