GRASSLANDS PUBLIC SCHOOLS is hiring! As we quickly approach the 2024/2025 School Year, we are seeking applications for Substitute Teachers for all Grasslands Public School Locations.

  • In addition to direct contact for booking dispatches, we also offer automated phone dispatches, which provide newer substitutes with more frequent opportunities to book, as well as web-based dispatch booking.
  • We work closely with the ATA Substitute Teacher representative to improve our processes and experience for our Substitute Teachers.
  • We hold Substitute Teacher appreciation events.
  • We provide mileage for qualifying distances automatically.

Job Duties:

  • Identify students’ individual and collective learning needs;
  • Plan and deliver instruction based on student learning needs and special needs;
  • Provide a stimulating learning environment in which each student can experience growth and develop to their potential;
  • Help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills;
  • Meet with parents;
  • Evaluate and communicate student progress;
  • Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help;
  • Meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress;
  • Volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities;
  • Attend meetings, seminars and in-service training sessions.

Education And Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Education from an approved institution.
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certification (or able to quickly obtain it).

Successful Applicants Will Be Required To Submit Before Start Date:

  • Current Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).

Original document reported within the last 6 months of hire date; condition of employment.

  • Applicants cannot work before a clear CRC with VSC has been provided and approved.
