SUBSTITUTE EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS

Substitute Educational Assistants work under the supervision of a certified teacher who retains the responsibility for planning, instruction, supervision and evaluation of the students. As a casual employee, you will assist students in optimizing learning potential within a variety of educational settings. This support may include behavior management, curriculum implementation, social skills development, personal care, and physical assistance.

Substitute Educational Assistants are paid $18.29 per hour plus vacation pay. When filling temporary contracts, we give first consideration to our Substitute Educational Assistants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Educational Assistant Diploma with CPR/First Aid preferred
• Some experience working with children in an organized setting preferred
• Preference will be given to those with NVCI training
• Experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors is an asset
• Ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care
