Jacobs in Canada is seeking a Substation Studies Engineer to perform power system analyses for planning, design, operation and expansion of transmission and distribution substations. You will develop models, run studies and provide recommendations for reliable operation, working with teams across North America.
The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical engineering, 4+ years of experience, familiarity with ETAP/SKM/PSCAD, IEEE/CIGRE standards, and travel within North America.

The Substation Studies Engineer is responsible for performing power system analyses to support the planning, design, operation, and expansion of transmission and distribution substations. As a substation studies engineer, you will develop and validate system models, performs technical studies, evaluates equipment performance, and provides recommendations to ensure reliable and compliant operation of the power system and substation design.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate related experience and technical knowledge in power system modeling and analysis through past experience with consulting engineering firms, developers and/or utilities.

The base salary range for this position is $114,000.00 to $149,700.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
