Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma from an institution recognized by the Board of Education.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and be flexible.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member.
• Valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated knowledge of school computer software such as word processing and computer assisted learning software.
• Educational assistant or equivalent diploma, NVCI, First Aid, Autism and Behavioral educational background assets.
• Commitment to public education and district mission and guiding principles.

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse needs and/or high behavioral needs.
• Attend to personal hygiene and medical needs as required.
• Prepare and plan student-based life skills and academic programming under direction of teacher.
• Assist with safe transitions and behaviour/safety plans.
• Supervision of intensive needs students and small groups.
• Possibility of transporting students in a personal vehicle.
